The Korean Ministries Director is a volunteer position of the South Central Jurisdiction, and is responsible for implementing strategies for establishing new Korean speaking congregations. Further, the Korean Ministries Director helps contribute to nurture existing Korean-American churches. Dr. Chung Keun Kim currently holds this position

The Korean Ministries Director may also serve as a consultant to the local Korean-American churches regarding of their needs, potential, and viability. When requested by a Bishop or District Superintendent, the Korean Ministries Director provides information of possible candidates for appointment to Korean-American churches belonging to the United Methodist Church in the Jurisdiction.
